Windows 7 Pro 32 bit (virtual on a VMware ESXi host)Hi, ESET NOD32 have erased mfc80u.dll and comctl32.dll from c:\windows\winsxs\folderIt´s not possible to restore from quarantain or use system restore points.How can i restore those files to each folder? I dont have permissions to restore files to folders in \winsxs.VMware tools does not run and i had to reinstall NOD32. Some other apps stil doesn´t work ofcourse...regard MrSWEMrSWE

Hi, I would like to suggest you try to run System File Checker to repair the system files. If it does not work, you may change the permission for C:\Windows\Winsxs folder and copy the missing files back. Take ownership of the folder ========================= 1. Right click folder on the computer and left click on properties. 2. On the Security tab, click on "Advanced" 3. On the Owner tab, click Edit. 4. Click Other users and groups. 5. If we can see the account we use, just highlight it and click Ok. If we cannot find it, type the account we use in Windows 7 and click OK. 6. Select the account we have just added. 7. Put a check mark in "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" and then click OK. 8. Back to Security tab, click Edit. 9. Highlight your group or user name and allow full control permission. 10.
