Hello, It is better for security to scan as often as possible, such one per day. It seems like your MSE haven't scan for a while and avert you of. Configure MSE to scan every day or when you want : Cheers,http://blog.simaju.fr - Partage de connaissances et retour d'expriences.

I have the same problem. I have MSE setup to run every Sunday morning. However, MSE does not accept to run only once per week. For example, I last did a manual scan two days ago. The scan resulted in no detections. Now today, MSE is telling me I am at risk and need to run the scan again. This has been going on for several weeks now. Every day or so, it tells me I am not protected and need to run a scan ... even though I am setup to need to run the scan only once per week! I have never had any detections (using MSE, Spybot, or Malwarebytes). MSE is the only real time protection that I am using. I also regularly keep my system up to date with the latest MS updates. Why does MSE require that I run the scanner more than once per week, when I have it properly setup to only run once per week? Please don't avoid the question by telling me it is better to scan every day! that is avoiding the issue! Something is wrong .... my natural suspicion is that because MSE wants me to run more frequently, that something is wrong ... but in all my scans I have detected nothing .... and my system is very stable.

Yes, I would like to know that too - i.e. how to turn it off. It has only started doing this a couple of weeks ago on this computer, but on my other computer it doesn't, thankfully. It is quite annoying. I am competent enough to know when I want to scan my PC, and although I didn't have problems with the MS Security Essentials in the past I'm now considering getting rid of it and getting something else if it keeps bothering me. I've had suspicion that it's an added thing that was in one of the latest updates. I'd like to be warned about something when something is actually wrong, otherwise it's just jerking my chain. And I certainly will not be told when to run what on my computer.
