You should read the following. It is about Microsoft Office but it deals with the "low on virtual memory" problem so there may be a fix for you there. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826513/en-gb

First and formost this is a Windows XP Forum, BUT, I will help you becasue you are WAY behind the times my friend. So I'm sorry to inform you of this but, there are no more downloads or updates being produced for Windows 2000, Microsoft has discontinued service for that particular operating system. See Here.Next, you want to defrag your computer follow These Instructions.Next, install more RAM, or increase virtual memory. Read This.THEN, go out and buy windows XP, OR you might want to think about getting a new computer with windows seven, because not many computers, came with 2000 Pro. so chances are you're running an OLD computer with updated software...The blue words above are links that take you to the MSFT support center. How does your problem pertain to Windows Update functionality? What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your subscription current?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Note: Extended Support for Windows 2000 SP4 ends on 13 July 2010. After that date, computers running Windows 2000 SP4 "will no longer receive software updates from Windows Update." • What does it mean if my version of Windows is no longer supported? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/what-does-end-of-support-mean~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (IE, Mail, Security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ Disclaimer: MS MVPs neither represent nor work for Microsoft
