low Ram
how can I free up more ram? Tried to download McAfee and got error message not enough ram1 person needs an answerI do too

Unfortunately unless you want a very long list of things to do starting with "uninstall programs", the best answer would be to add additonal physical memory. Removing one or two apps wont really achive anything in real terms. If the amount of RAM is really that low, the PC will be very slow as soon as you install Mcafee anyway. You ideally want at least a gig (you didn't mention what you have currently) Sorry.

I have an old pc with only 128mb of ram. I was thinking of installing 256mb. I was wondering if an old machine could handle it

I'd start with Crucials website- they have a memory advisor for upgrading factory build brand machines. http://www.crucial.com/ If yours is a custom build, ie not a major brand, then I would recommend checking against the mainboard. Most mainboards have their model printed on them if you open the case, you can then usually get a PDF manual from the downloads section at the manufacturers website.
