You can try to reset TCP/IP if you have Internet connection issues.

Hi wpan,

When did this issue occur ? Did this issue occur before ?Have you tried to connect to another wireless connection to have a check ?This will help us to troubleshoot whether it is caused by the specifice router.

It is recommended to run the built-in troubleshoot tool to have a diagnostic:
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\Network and Internet\Network Adapter ,Internet Connections

If the issue persists ,reinstall the network adapter driver to have a check .We may need to download the driver from the manufacturer website.

If the issue persists ,please run the following commands to reset the TCP/IP stack to have a check:
ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refesh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)
Reboot

When the wireless connection is disconnected ,please also check the Event Viewer for related information to troubleshoot this issue .

Event Viewer \Windows logs \Application ,System

Best regards

I will try your process tonight and post the result.  I have two other lattitude laptop and they are fine (windows 7 pro).   This laptop runs Windows 8.1 enterprise and I am using it to learn windows 8.1 coding.  It was fine until last few windows update.  I think it happened about a month ago and I thought it is driver issues.  I have used Microsft driver and intel driver and they has the same result, connection drop constantly.

I have to either close the lid or turn the switch to off and then back on.  The status shows wifi off but it is not.

Id also highly recommend checking to see if your wireless adapter is configured for power saving in Device Manager. Right click on the device and select Properties, Power Management is its own tab.
