lost wireless capability to connect after installing explorer 8 on windows vista
My wireless internet stopped working after I downloaded explorer 8 and my Norton indicated an error in my teredo tunneling. The wireless conection says to be receiving at 100%, but my drivers include a microsoft ISATAP adapter #4 and 4 teredo tunneling pseudo interfase that have yellow exclamation signs. Drivers say to be up to date, updated the driver Mini PCI express adapter, unistalled the explorer 8. I have a lenovo, with vista service pack 1 (didn't install service pack 2 becuase it crashes my sound card). Still nothing, ethernet work fine. what do I do??

Hi, Regarding to the yellow exclamation on teredo tunneling pseudo and Microsoft ISATAP adapter, we can ignore it. Please refer to: On a Windows Vista-based computer or on a Windows Server 2008-based computer, the Microsoft ISATAP adapter appears with a yellow exclamation mark next to it in Device Manager, and you also receive an error message I would suggest uninstall Norton to troubleshoot first. If the issue persists, you can reinstall it. Meanwhile, it is recommended to contact your Manufacturer in getting the right drivers for your Network Adapter or access the Manufacturer’s website to get the right driver for your wireless Network Adapter. Hi I uninstalled my norton internet security with their removal tool, but the adapters were still showing the yellow exclamation mark, and still, no wireless conection, I have downloaded and installed the latest lenovo driver but cannot uninstall the microsoft ISATAP adapters and teredo tunneling pseudo interfases because that option is not available, just disabling them does not solve the problem. regards

Hi, Let us ignore the yellow exclamation mark as I mentioned in my first reply and focus on the wireless connection. Can you tell us what is your internet provider? Do you have Ethernet connect connected? From your description, it seems that your wireless connection did get through but only Internet explorer is not working, am I correct? Let us try the following method to check the result: 1. Please go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections, right clicked on Local Area Connection, clicked on status, clicked on support tab, clicked repair. 2. Go to, Start, Run, type cmd and click OK. Now type: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt If it does not work, in case this is due to conflict with any third party software, I would suggest prepare the following two mode to check the result: Clean boot Here is a workaround, uninstall IE 8 and reinstall it, during the reinstallation, please uncheck the box before installing the latest updates.
