Your information is not gone and your computer behaved exactly as it was designed. You apparently have XP Pro or Media Center and were using the built-in Administrator as your daily (and only) user account. This isn't recommended because if you only have the one built-in Administrator user account on the system and it becomes corrupted or otherwise inaccessible, you have no way of getting into Windows to effect repairs. After you created a second administrative user account, the built-in Administrator was hidden. You can still get to it by adding it back to the Welcome Screen or by using the Classic Logon Box. For the latter, do Ctrl-Alt-Del at the Welcome Screen. Use "Administrator" (without the quotes) as the username and whatever password you assigned. If you didn't assign a password, leave it blank. For the former: Enable Administrator account on Welcome Screen - http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_admin_ok.htm Since you've been using Administrator for all this time, you might as well keep on using it. Just make sure you have at least one extra administrative user account on the system.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
