First, enable hidden files and folders. In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View. Now, do a search for *.wab & wa~If you find a usable address book, write down the location. Open the Address Book in OE and File | Import | Address Book (wab) and point to the address book you found.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

It worked in that I found some old address folders when I searched for *.wab. There was also a wa~ file that I couldn't open. The address folder went missing when I deleted a duplicate name within that folder. Sounds crazy, but I believe that is all that I did. Any other suggestions? This is a complete mystery to me.Thanks again.

Did you try to import either of the files you found? It appears that those are all that is left on your machine. Backing up these things is very important. Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

No I didn't import the files. The one I could open I don't need. The other has a "wa" extension that I couldn't open. Thought about dowloading software to open it, but haven't yet.
