This is just to say that this fixed my printer sharing problem on January 2, 2011. The printer was attached to a desktop running Windows XP Home Edition and I was trying to access it from a laptop running Windows 7. The printer had been working until recently. It may have stopped working when I installed Microsoft Security Essentials on the desktop, or maybe that was merely coincidence :). I started with the basics of switching the Windows 7 from a home group to a work group and making sure both had the same workgroup names. That didn't get the printer working, but did allow the XP computer to show up on the Window 7 laptop. However, I got the logon error that is the basis of this thread when I tried to access the Windows XP desktop computer. Searching on the error got me to this thread. I was a little nervous about downloading a tool from 2003 that didn't seem to be exactly for Windows XP, but the commands ran successfully and most importantly, now I can use my printer again!!Thanks!
