By default, account lockout is disabled on Windows XP. If it is enabled, usually a timeout period is also specified. Typically this would be about 30 minutes although it can be anything from one minute to never. The two choices are to wait for the timeout period to expire or to log in as an administrator and reset the affected account. For more information, see the article:"Understanding Logon and Authentication"< http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457114.aspx >Skip about 3/4 the way down to the "Account Lockout Policy" paragraph. In it it states:"To manually reset an account that has been locked out, open the user’s property sheet in Active Directory Users and Computers. On the Account tab, clear the Account is Locked Out check box. Even though it is a good practice to reset the user’s password at the same time, changing the password does not unlock the account."If you can log in with any account, bring up a command prompt window (Start->Run->"cmd") and enter the command: net accountsThis should display the current policy in effect.HTH, JW
