What router are you trying to install? Windows XP SP3? -B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

Processes running under Local Service account? -- this could be any number of valid processes. I'd say less than 10 is "normal".

I doubt the local host thing is an issue. What steps, exactly, are you taking to try and configure this thing? When I deploy a WRT54GS I just plug it into the network, connect a computer to it (via cable, preferably) and access it via IP address (usuallyhttp://192.168.1.1 if I recall correctly) in my web browser (IE or Firefox usually). Then I use the web configuration utility to make any settings I need to make (turn on encryption, change the default passwords, maybe change the IP address settings).Works like a charm - takes 10 minutes at most. -B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook
