If you can get to the start menu, go to accessories and select the On Screen Keyboard. Don't have any answers other than that because I have the same problem.

Hi plcexpert,Follow momary's advise the mean time. Then, check DEVICE MANAGER if the driver for your keyboard is installed. You may try to install its latest drivers or do System Restore. If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Propose as Answer" If you find it helpful , mark it as helpful by clicking on "Vote as Helpful" button at the top of this message. If I cannot log on and open windows because the keyboard is not working, how can I get to the start menu.I end up using F8 (the F keys are still working) during boot up to "previous good working session" and it worked. After I log on to windows I immediately was offered an update from Microsoft. I installed the update and the problem did not recurre.
