I have a problem when I run my disk defrag. I allways check to see if it needs to be defraged and when it tells me "you should defrag this volume" I run my defrag. however, the defrager runs to about 3% then I get a blue or black screen....I forget what color....but the screen says>>a problem has been dected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer kernel_data_inpage_error then it says if this is the first time you have seen this stop error screen restart your computer and follow the steps. I have tried all the steps the message says to do but nothing works also I have to restart my computer from the hard drive....holding in the button till pc shuts down...thats the only way nothing else works. I am running windows xp and my pc is about 8 yrs old...hewlet packard...any help would be well appreciated1 person needs an answerI do too
