just began using Outlook for email, but all the test emails I've sent seem to arrive with the word "SPAM" stuck in the subject-line. How can I turn that off?

Nothing to do with outlook, its a feature of the anti virus / internet security application that is installed and integrated with outlook.If this is your PC in which you are viewing the test mails, uninstall your AV, if Norton or McAfee use the tool on their site to completely remove.Reboot the PC, reninstall AV *without* the outlook integration
