is it possible to monitor offline folder sync errors on clients?
You can activate more logging on the client and when a specific event occur it will notify you or the user via email or send the logs to a central location for processing. Start Event Viewer and go to Applications and services logs > Microsoft > Windows > Offline files. Then go to the View menu and choose Show analytic and debug logs which will give you some more logs than just the operational log (which is to no use to us by default). In the SyncLog log it will list for instance event ID 2006 whenever a failure occurs in the sync process. In the menu to the right you can choose "Attach a task to this log" to create a scheduled task sending an email or running a script when the problem occurs, or you can also setup Subscriptions to certain events, see "Subscriptions" last in the left menu.Blogging about Windows for IT pros at www.theexperienceblog.com

We have several clients (80+) that use the offline folder functionality. Sometimes a client machine has a sync error but stays unnoticed by the user. This has resulted in los of data at one of the users. We would like to see the sync errors of all clients from one central point. This way we can monitor any problems and take action if needed. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Any help is really appreciated. Thanks, Najim
