ip setting without gateway
hello it is possible to specify an ip and a mask without gateway, and to add specific route is it not recommanded or my approach is correct thansk

If I understand your question correctly, my answer is yes. A good example is when you have a multihomed computer (with two or more NIC), you may setup one NIC connect to other subnet without default gateway.
