I assume "ff" is Firefox. Have you checked you Internet connection? Maybe your net connection went down as far as the technet site goes. What connection do you have? Also do a virus scan, never hurts to check...- JoelbX

I am just eliminating possible answers to his problem. Viruses do crazy things and IE just lets in so many viruses. Sounds like you need to check for viruses too. I have been having problems the past few hours with a dial-up connection on this forum, so that is why I was asking the net connection thing. - JoelbX

What virus scanner did you use for the check? Have you tried deleting your cookies, saved passwords, things like that IE saves, then try reloading technet? - JoelbX

yes have done all that and nothing. jeniece - Have you tried resetting IE 8? Press the ALT key, select Tools, Internet Options. Click on the Advanced tab and click the reset button at the bottom. You will lose your passwords and will need to reinstall your IE 8 add-ons, but it may fix whatever is causing the problem.
