internet connection issue
i run windows 7, every once in a while, my internet connection would "blink" all internet would stop for maybe under 5 seconds, and come right back on, no reason that i can find for this, its not a hardware problem, it happens on both wired and wireless, on the icon in the corner does not change to say anything is wrong, the net just turns off for a moment then comes back, i want to find a software that will tell me where the problem is, what is running that is causing the problem, also when it "blinks" it is so fast i dont have a chance to see if im still connected and can access the local network also note that i do not have wireless and wired connected at the same time windows 7 ultimate nvidia networking

Hey, I am not familar with any software that will do this. However you can use Task Manager in much the same way (networking). Even still simple things will interupt the internets signal. Mobile phones, microwaves, cordless telephones and even a cloudy day. On more serious issues you might have a faultly port. I suggest making a note of when exactly you have this "blink". What applications, what time etc. Hope this helps :)'To be or not to be, that is the question.'- Hamlet, Shakespeare.

Hi, Thanks for the post! Does this issue happen in safe mode with networking? I suspect there could be some application conflicts, please try a Clean Boot. Do you find any related logs in Event Viewer when you lose the connection? It's more easy for troubleshooting. Meanwhile, update the BIOS and your network card. There is a tool called Network Monitor can help you capture the network traffic and analyze the issue, since this issue is uncertain, you will get lots of data about your network traffic. Open the network monitor until the issue happens, then stop it to check the latest data. i actualy downloaded the network monitor befor i posted this, i did not find anything odd, then i went to the event viewer and found what was happening, it seemed every 12 hours it would renew the lease on my ip addy, and for some reason it was denied, did some searching and decided to make a static in the tcip thing as well as have my address reserved in the router, so it no longer has to renew, and so far it has not blinked on me, i never knew if it did it in safe mode or not or on windows xp beacuse it would only happen once in a while
