internet connected but cable not connected error.
Have new nic, cable, other computer works fine, have compared settings of internet explorer and network setup. router ok, have tried numerous fix tries from internet, all fail. In network connections, the packets sent and recieved count up, yet the connection never gets past having IP Addresses, that attempt fails. Have had previous viruses removed by super spyware scanner.

Yes , I believe the Super Spyware Scanner does look for all the normal stuff. DHCP both, no tried to ping 127.0.0.1 failed. when I type IPCONFIG, as I found on internet fixes, a black square pops up for a fraction of a second then clears away? Never will display any settings.

Never will display any settings. In order to see the results of ipconfig (or ipconfig /all), you must run it from a Command Prompt window, not from the Start > Run box. Try this:1. Click Start / Run 2. Type the three letters cmd 3. Click OK 4. Type the following commands and press the Enter key after each of them: set comp > c:\test.txt ipconfig /all >> c:\test.txt net share >> c:\test.txt notepad c:\test.txt 5. Paste the contents of the result into your reply.
