internal hard disk not showing in win 7
hi all i have 3 HDD in my system (1 for OS,1 for DATA ,3rd one for DATA) i am having problem with the 3rd HDD , sometime its working fine,and sometime shows as USB , and sometimes it not showing at all when i say not showing, i mean from the Device manager ,and from the disk managment >> as if its not installed at all and by the way, i can see this HDD in the BIOS; so i beleive its a problem with WINdows OS installed: win7 ultimate-64 bit RAM: 8GB HDD#1 500Gb 2 partition 1 os ,1 data HDD#1 500Gb 1 partition data HDD#3 >1 TB 3 partitions all data i suspect there is conflict i the system, for the drives letters or w.e Thanks in advancedPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. hey and thanks for the reply 1st device manger doesn t show any errors\warning or disabled devices 2nd: Mboard: GIGABYTE technology P55-UD4p Win7 64X ultimate 1st HDD Model WDC WD5000AAKS-00UU3A0 ATA Device 2nd HDD Model WDC WD5000AAKS-00UU3A0 ATA Device 3rd HDD (failure) WDC 1tb WDEars to get the HDD back i need to unplug the USB drives (all of them) ,and reboot and whenerv i reconnect a usb>>>it fails again Hope u can help, this is bothering me too much,,the only solution is find is to buy a 4th one,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hussein K, Can you provide more details as far as the computer/motherboard manufacture and model along with hard drive manufacture and model? Are you seeing any warning in Device Manager when the hard drive is not present what about entries in the Event Log? How do you get the drive to reappear (i.e. reboot, power off and back on, etc.)? Use DISKPART and see if the volume is listed, you can probably fix it from this utility.
