Did you check apache error logs? Perhaps port 80 is in use (i.e. skype might use that port)

First thanks for the response, This is the last record below error log shows, it appears to be listening to port 80, I do not have Skype in this machine ??? I'm stumped...When I go to http:/localhost it opens index of/ and displays files list. or when I type in my website same desplay show index of/ with file list. If it displays index of /, it means everything is working properly. Perhaps you didn't explain throughly what is the problem ;) P.S. by the way, this has nothing to do with windows, ya know...and if you wonder what skype has to do with this, check out it's preferences, in connection (or advanced) tab there is a checkbox to use port 80 or 413 as alternative (or something like that), make sure it's unchecked if you want have a webserver running on same machine.
