Save your data to an external drive and boot from your XP CD and format the Windows 7 partition and install XP as you always did it. André"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

I'd also include deleting the hidden partition and the C: partition, then reassign the free space created as a new, larger c:.Then format the new space and install XP to it.Note: All of this is doable from the XP pre-installation CD boot.DAS

thank you. I was hoping to save my software and their updates. (the data is easy enough to save). i know in the past you have not been able to go backwards in the windows series, just install the newer windows version.

thank you. I was hoping to save my software and their updates. (the data is easy enough to save). i know in the past you have not been able to go backwards in the windows series, just install the newer windows version. i hate all the burping and patience to reload software and their updates. i do plan on this pc to be dual boot.......with xp home (already there) and xp pro, due to the differences in the 2 versions....one of the biggest i have found is administrator accessibility. (and local users and groups missing in computer management). charlie
