install of LLTD reponder knocks XP off network
I have alaptop on vista and a desktop and laptop on XP. I am trying to network them and have done all suggestions posted in these forums. My Xp computers recognized each other but not the Vista machine. The Vista recognizes only itself. After doing all the sharing, permission setting, naming folders, turning sharing on, turningnetwork recognition on, making sure the network names are the same, rebooting+++++and 100 other complicated machinations not required in XP, I can report my XP computers no longer recognize each other. Well, now that the rant is over can anyone tell me how to network these machines or at least how to restore the network on my XP 's. I tried uninstalling LLTD reponder but can't find it in the add remove programs. I tried restoring to an earlier time, but the new vista speak dialogue boxes are here to stay. I tried typing \\computername\filename in the Xp explorer ~(not found). My computers connect to a hub and then directly to the internet. Why does the XP computer not see the Vista machine and vise versa
