would like assistance before installing additional memory There are numerous "how to" sites that you can find using Google. For a more specific answer, specify the make AND model of your computer. You also need to have information about the memory currently in your computer. Go tohttp://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/index.aspxDownload and run the scanner. This will tell you what type of memory is installed, how much memory is installed, the size and number of memory sticks installed, and the number of memory slots available. Much more information is also displayed.

If you are nervous about it (some folks are), then you could take it to a "shop" and usually if you buy the memory there, they will install it for free and blow out all the dust while they are at it. This way, you eliminate the possibility of buying the wrong memory or having an installation issue.Come over here where I live - just around the corner from "computer city" - a strip mall of sorts with seemingly nothing but computer shops! You don't have to take your monitor, keyboard or mouse - they should have all that stuff.Make sure when you walk out the door you are satisfied that your system recognizes the additional memory and your critical applications all work okay.Do you really think suggestions that begin with the words try, might or maybe are going to be helpful?I need YOUR votes and points for helpful replies and Propose as Answers. I am saving up for a pony!
