increase USB Mouse refresh rate
how can I increase the USB mouse refresh rate over the default 125hz? I tried this http://www.ngohq.com/news/15043-how-to-increase-usb-sample-rate-in-windows-vista-7-a.html I own an A4Tech mouse capable of 1000dpi, but it does not works. I can reduce under 125 hz, but not raise over it.

What's you're mouse ID? It could be your mouse can't do more then 125Hz.

I'm not trying to be a smarta$$, but I genuinely would like to know what advantage there is to increasing the mouse refresh rate. Does it move more smoothly or something? I've never heard of tweaking a mouse refresh rate before.-Noel

I've never heard of tweaking a mouse refresh rate before. -Noel Mouse latency is an important contribution to total latency. there are an important market for high DPI mouses (yes, I own one of them). Those mouses are useless in windows 7 if latency is artificially high. high DPI and low latencies allow to draw smoother lines with the mouse, and increase responsivity on some games, and real time applications wich depend on mouse control. Also, low latencies feel much smoother, and give a feeling of higher quality to windows experience. there are complex ways to break windows, and mess with the OS to enable lower latencies: http://www.ngohq.com/news/15043-how-to-increase-usb-sample-rate-in-windows-vista-7-a.html the problem is that they, as I told, break windows. I asked Apple to provide latency control to end users, and they gave me an good answer. Microsoft totally ignored me.
