It's most likely the fault of one or more Add-ons you have installed into Internet Explorer. Note that you may not even know these Add-ons have been installed; they're loaded automatically by many web pages. You can start Internet Explorer without Add-ons to try it out. To do this, click the Start orb, type Internet in the search box, then click on "Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)" when it comes up.If it turns out this solves the problem, then I suggest you seek out the Add-on that is causing it by disabling Add-ons methodically and retrying the operations until the problem is solved. To manage Add-ons, make the menus in Internet Explorer visible then choose Tools -> Manage Add-ons.Add-ons (e.g., ActiveX objects) represent one of the most optimistic views Microsoft has had of the Internet, in which useful software would just be loaded whenever needed, from wherever it might be. As it turns out, because of the greed and malice (and sometimes just stupidity) of software writers out there, it has become one of the worst security and stability problems in Windows. Many people choose other browsers because Internet Explorer simply becomes unusable after the many, many Add-ons destabilize it.In the long term, I recommend setting Internet Explorer not to automatically allow the installation of Add-ons except from sites you trust (i.e., those you have added to your Trusted Sites list).-Noel

Or you may find like I have, its just much better leaving addons disabled and like Noel said, only use addons from those you TRUST (key word here)MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

Thanks Noel,Most of the addons are Adobe, and all but one (flash) are disabled already. I also have silverlight, and Windows Live signin helper. All of these have been around for a while, and have not caused problems (that I know of). There is only one other; a BHO for Free Download Manager which I installed when I upgraded to Windows 7. I used a different download manager on Vista. I disabled this and will monitor.

Those free download managers are always suspect. I haven't used one in many years. Typically even when you disabled it, it will rear its ugly head again and again under various guisesMCSE, MCSA, MCDST

Hi Yanta0205, If the issue persists in Internet Explorer without Add-ons mode, please also try the following suggestions to check the result. Check if the issue occurs in Clean Boot. (Please refer to the steps for Windows Vista in this knowledge base (KB) article) If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue. If the issue persists in Clean Boot, please reset Internet Explorer by the steps below: Note: the following steps will remove all of installed add-ons and reset IE to default settings. We need to reinstall the add-ons after resetting. 1. Click "Start", type "inetcpl.cpl" (without quotation marks) into “Search” bar and press "Enter" to open the “Internet Options” window. 2. Switch to the "Advanced" tab. 3. Click "Reset…" to reset Internet Explorer settings. 4. Check "Delete personal settings" box and click "Reset" to confirm the operation. 5. Click "Close" when the resetting process is complete. 6. Close the Internet Explorer window and restart IE to check the issue. For more information about how to troubleshoot the Internet Explorer 8 issue, please refer to the following article: You cannot view, access, or load some Web pages when you use Internet Explorer 8 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967897 Also, you can scan the system using anti-virus and anti-spyware software to make sure the system is clean.
