ie9 and msfax
Hi,
Back in May, I installed IE9 and could not longer send a fax. This appeared
to be a known problem... is there anyone on a Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 that
can successfully fax something with IE9 installed? If so, I will give it
another try.

Hi,
First, please check if the following methods are helpful.
1. Click Start, type cmd in the search box, right click cmd in the list and run as administrator. Then type the following command.
regsvr32 ole32.dll
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
If the issue persists, please provide the exact error message that you received.

Hi Juke,
Are you able to send a fax with IE9 installed running from a 64 bit Windows
7 SP1 system?
The error I get is a script error:
An error has occured in the script on this page.
Line: 2107
Char: 1
Error: Invalid procedure call or arguement
Code: 0
URL:: res://ieframe.dll/preview.js
Google, and you will see others reporting this error but no solutions - even
on technet.
Uninstalling IE9 bypassed this error.... so thats why Im currently running
on IE8. I can send a fax now, so dont want to make things worse by
installing IE9 if it's still broken.
Thanks, John

Have you manually downloaded the 64-bit version of Java an installed it for IE9?
http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml
The 32-bit version will install from the Java website.
Install both.

Ok, John A5, which fax tool\application are you trying to use and what are you attempting to fax?
Did any of the recent Windows Updates correct the issue?

Im using Microsofts Windows Fax and Scan client Im waiting for someone
to tell me that it worked for them with IE9 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
so far amazingly, no one has said it does. I really dont want to start
reinstall/debug again if no one can tell me that it works for them. Im
faxing electronic documents (PDF, Word or text files) that I send to the fax
printer.

Hi,
Based on my research, I found out that this is a known issue. The problem will be solved through a hotfix or in a future version of Internet Explorer 9.
Thanks for your understanding.
