You shouldn't have had to download ie8 because its standard on Windows 7. If this is a brand new machine, contact Dell Support first, let them work it out. What Dell model and model # did you get? Popup's will still occur unless you put them in your Trusted Sites list and you told it not to block pop-up's (I only have 2 sites I allow that action on and Microsoft is one of them). I think in this situation a reset of IE8 is in order. The instructions for a reset are: Go to Tools in the IE8 menu, Internet Options, Advanced, click on ResetWhat AV and 3rd party firewall are you using if any?MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. Hi, Besides reset Internet Explorer 8 settings, please also perform a Clean Boot to check the result. If the issue persists, please upgrade the virus definition and run a complete scanning. Thanks, Novak
