icons keep disappearing on desktop to map drive locations
This is a new computer with windows 7 pro in a 2003sbs environment. I have programs that run from the sbs via shortcutsI have map those drives from the shares and created shortcuts to the windows 7 users desktop What happens is the icons keep disappearing from the desktop after reboot or log off This is very annoying and causing much grief to the end user. Why is this happening and how can it be prevented? Do I have to go back to stable windows xp pro until there is a permanent fix for this?

Hi, May I know if the users are using roaming profile and how you map those drives from the shares and create shortcuts to the windows 7 users desktop? Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Create a shortcut for a folder on the desktop and see if it will disappear after logoff. 2. Check if some other new created shortcut on the desktop will disappear. 3. Please check your policy settings. Hope this helps. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
