my friend has installed the program on to my lap top and i put a password on it. with time i realized that i have forgot it! now i am not capable to update or even use the program at all. all of the info on the program has gotten lost, the cd and the license for it! i have paid for that program till the 2012 and its cost too match to just get rid of it! what can i do and how can i fix it! please! i have my whole life on my lap top and the viruses are a grate fear of mine!

You put a password on your antivirus...why? Contact Avast antivirus product support!!!1 When you purchased the Avast AV you likely (should have) gotten a proof of purchase along with a confirmation to your email account you used to sign up for the software. Avast has a product support address & number, contact them indicating you lost your registration key (they should actually email this to you too!) & they can send you the download so you can re-install and register it again.
