i also tried connecting my laptop with ethernet cable to my router, still couldnt connect to internet. i checked in control panel, and in network and internet connection, computer is not even recognizing my modem. some one told me i might have to download a driver! but what kind of driver would i need and without internet how would i download it to my laptop ? please guide me through the process. youu have to download your modem or ethernet driver(LAN driver) wireless will do (if you have wireless router)you can download from different system connected to net(friends/relatives/cafe )write on CD rom/or copy to Pen drive/thumb drive/flash disk to transfer to your computer without driverBest of LuckSohail Khan

You need to install the drivers either from those supplied on disk by your laptop maker, or visit their site and install drivers specific to your laptop model
