hyper-v on non pro, windows 8.1

Hello everyone!

I was developing a windows universal app at my internship until it ran out. I still need to finish the application but i was using one of the company computers for the development.

Now im pretty much screwed due to not having Windows 8.1 Professional on my home computer(I have regular windows 8.1).

This because i dont have the hyper-v functionality needed in order to run the Windows phone emulator.

I really need help to either find another emulator that works, or some way to get hyper-v functionality on my machine even tough it doesnt user windows 8.1 pro.

Really need quick and good answers on this!

I am a student so dont really have that much money to spend on upgrading windows.

Have you read this web page?

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/hyper-v-run-virtual-machines

Looks like it should work on the Non-Pro version of 8.1

Also you can download the Pro Pack if you have 8.1 as an upgrade for $99 or get the student Pro for $69 @

Just because your internship ran out doesn't mean you are not a student. You only need to attend part of the current year to qualify.

Hi,

This forum is for developers discussing developing issues about Microsoft Access. Since the issue is more relative to hyper-v on Windows 8.1, I would like to move it to Windows 8.1 Virtualization forum.

The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.

Thanks for your understanding.

Regards & Fei
