how to postpone the deployment of windows update

In addition to Miltongoh's suggestion, if you change the setting within Windows Update to what the screenshot below depicts, it will only install updates when shutting down the PC, instead of during a restart.

Have you tried to use the command line?

shutdown /r /t 0

This trigger a reboot with "/r" and with the time "/t" set to immediate.

When remote trouble shooting, sometime we need to reboot the customer's computer. unfortunately the computer might deploy the updates during rebooting. as you know that the deployment may cost a lot of time, so we have to wait for a long time. is that possible to temporarily postpone the deployment of windows update?
