how to have microsoft office programs running along side internet explorer so I can see both at once

Recently my laptop has stopped allowing Microsoft word to run on the same screen as my internet. I want to know how I can have them running together on a half and half screen as it creates an easier way of doing my work. It only stopped working around 2 weeks ago

Please help with this issue

If both are Desktop apps, use the Taskbar Show windows side by side command.  Minimize any other window you have up so only those two are included in the operation.  However, you may also find it just as easy to drag each window to an opposite side of the screen, wait for it to be shown as a preview and then release.

Hmm... apparently we can't do that quite so easily with Display in Extended mode.  Who knew?  But I was still able to use one monitor's edge to tile a window on that side, drag it to the opposite side and then do the same thing with the other window.  Maybe not as precise as result as a SxS command but good enough for something which is probably pretty transitory.

BTW notice that it is also easy to restore the window to its normal mode size by simply dragging it some more until the pointer disappears into an edge, another preview appears and then you drop the drag again.
