Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums. Do you receive any error message when trying to connect? Please also check your firewall settings that may affect network discovery and connectivity. Best Regards Magon Liu TechNet Subscriber Support in forum. HI, The error message I get is "No Network Connections Available". I have tried loads of things. The firewall is off. I have reloaded the drivers for the network card. I edited the registery to solve an error with the Ivp6 not being enabled. I have never been able to sort this from day 1 with Win7-64. when I go to networks on Computer I can see the entire network. but can connect to nothing. The network is set as "PUBLIC and I can't change it without windows awknowlaging my home network. I have an older PC with win7 32 and it seems fine. It is specific to the new PC. It is an intel I5 with 4Gig of memory on a Gigabyte P55-US3L Motherboard. I loaded on the service pack 1 upgrade hoping that would help but no luck. The only thing left in my arsnal is to wipe and reload. That will be a pain as I have lots of software that I would have to reload. Kind Regards, Jim BobBowie

I'm just wondering where you got your network drivers from. If you haven't already you might try here: http://218.210.127.131/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false. If those are the same version of the drivers you already have then feel free to ignore me (everyone else does...)

Thanks, I tried those and they were the same as the ones I got from Gigabyte. Still no luck. I just don't know where to go next. Jim Bob Bowie

Hi, Click Start\Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center. Click on the blue letters under the Public network icon and change it to work or home. Using Public configures security settings. You can turn off file sharing for a home or work network setting to control data privacy.

Hi, If only it was so easy. My PC says not connected to a network on that screen and there are no options to change the setting for a network that it can't see. That was the first thing I tried. I am really unstuck with this. Jim BobBowie

Ok, so have you checked the Windows firewall settings or the firewall settings for the security software that you are using? Perhaps the connection block is there. Have you performed a complete shutdown, power-off and restart?

Try a different ethernet cable and a different router port. You can also try this procedure from another post in this forum: To reset your network Click Start , click Run , type regedit , and then press ENTER. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL-MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network Right-click this subkey, click Export , and then save the selected branch in a file. Click the Network subkey again, and then delete the Config entry. Do not delete the Network subkey. The Config entry will be reconstructed when you restart the computer. Restart the computer. You may have to manually turn off the computer. The config key is re-created on the next boot up! You might have to run Regedit as administrator to be able to change the subkeys (use ctrl shift enter for the run command). Create a system restore point first just in case this doesn't work right. Stupid question, gonna ask it anyway. Are the "workgroup" names on all the PC's the same? If not you might be able to see them but still not connect.

I have tried reseting the network I have tested the cable and router point with a different PC, all OK I have uninstalled the firewall (zone alarm) I have restarted the PC, and the workgroup names are the same and have been changed on all machines on the network 3 times or more. It just says "Not Connected - No Connections Available" bur the internet works and I can see the network on my network places to no avail. Jim BobBowie

Tried that and still a no go. Can't see any network hardware. Not connected to any networks. Tried to set up internet and it said no network connection. I opened internet explorer and am connected now to this forum. Connection Icon on the task bar shows connection status with a big red X through it. I just don't get it. I am going to have to try a full re-install. Jim Bob 21 Bowie
