how to find out what update no. means
Since downloading and installing a big batch of Windows updates I am getting this message every time I start my computer "ipoint.exe. No Disk. there is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk2\DR2 " googling this message it seems to be connected with intellipoint. I installed an optional update for intellipoint and I want to remove it and see if it is the culprit. How can I find out which of the many updates I installed is the one I want? As they are all starting with KB......... I have no way of knowing which is which. Is there a way to look at each update by using the number? If I do a system restore I will lose a lot of music files I installed after the updates so that is my last option. Thanks Gaye windows 7 home premium.

Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Installed Updates. Click on the 'Installed on' column until the newest updates are at the top of each group. Highlight the one you think might be the culprit and at the bottom of the screen in the details pane, click on the 'Help link.' That will take you to the KB article. If the details pane isn't showing, click on Organize > Layout and click on Details Pane. SC Tom -There's no such thing as TMI when asking for tech support.

I believe that IntelliPoint comes as a separate download on Windows Update, if you start Windows Update and look in the Update history do you see anything related to IntelliPoint? As this is probably a driver you will not find and cannot uninstall it from "View installed updates". Instead you have to turn to either "programs and features" or uninstall/roll back the driver in Device Manager. Also a note regarding System Restore, this does not remove any user data, System Restore only backs system and application files and leave the user data intact. Thanks Gaye windows 7 home premium. check your event viewer, if any update is making an issue, you'll find it there. You may want to uninstall that update so your system can reinstall a fresh copy of it . If you want to know more about the details of an update go to http://support.microsoft .com/ kb/123456 where 123456 is your kb number. http://www.cesabarre.com/
