how to create distribution group
I have installed Lync 2013 front end server and have enabled user from my existing Active Directory. The client machines run Office 2007 which is why i had to download the client(x86) from microsoft website. now i want to create a distribution group.  I  found a treads which tells me how to create a distribution group through Office 365. Since i dont have Office 365, how should i create a distribution group?

Distribution groups are in a way email groups that you can also use in Lync.  You'd need to create it in Office 365 or your on premises Exchange environment.  If you just want to create a regular group for yourself, there should be a little icon in the right side of your Lync client with a plus on top of it.  You can create a group there as well, but other users won't be able to see or u

Distribution groups are created within exchange/ AD. If the address book service and group expansion are functioning properly you should be able to search and use existing distribution groups from your exchange/AD environment.

Hi Koustav Mitra,

Since you dont have Office 365, you should create it in your on premises Exchange environment.

The forum you posted is for Lync Server On Premise only.  You can refer to the following link for creating an E-Mail Distribution List
