how to buy PC for enterprise without OS.
Good day. how to buy PC for enterprise without OS. we have an agreement directly with microsoft for windows 7. but hp retailers are charging for os as well. can we avoid OEM licence based on corporate license. thanks in advance for your feedback. Regards, Ram

Depending on your supplier, you can ask for a Linux build to be installed or no OS at all. HP will load servers, workstations, and laptops with Linux if you request it and since Linux is free, there is no licensing issues. Dell will send computers sans OS but I recently learned that not all volume licenses are the same and that some actually require you to have some kind of Windows license as the VL agreement is for upgrades only. In that case, you can do what we are doing and purchasing them with Win7 home basic/starter and upgrading them to Pro or Enterprise.
