how to access shared folders in win xp from win7 home
I am trying to access a shared folder in a remote computer from my laptop installed with win 7 home premium. The remote computer is within a domain, a local network. I cannot enable the network ID in my laptop, so I cannot change the domain. I type"//computer name.domain name" but it does not work. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi, It sounds like you want to access the shared folder from remote computer; I suggest you setup a VPN connection in Windows 7; you might use this method to connect to your work computer from home: 1. Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type adapter, and then, under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections. 2. Click File, and then click New Incoming Connection. 3. If you don’t see the File menu, press Alt. 4. Follow the steps in the wizard. Hope it helps.
