how recover from xpsp3 defrag overcompressed apps, including OS files, ie8,etc. ide hard disk too small, can't find larger from Dell.
I have been sing defrag to get more space on hard disk. Running defrag has automatically compressed many applications/files and much of system doesn't work ( eg: system information, ie8, etc). Deleted as much as I can in "add/remove app's".I am working on the edge (200-500mb free so not enough to reload xpsp3).Q? how can I recover?

You dont have to buy a new drive from Dell, you buy from the place of your choice, and simply ensure its the same type of connection (ide / Sata etc) and the system Bios supports large drives
