how do I remove the release candidate without installing the final version?
I installed the rc as part of the beta testing process, and now it has stopped working entirely. I can't even get to the sign-in screen. I would like to remove it entirely (including the boot menu entry). It did work on my laptop, but marginally. I had it installed alongside WinXP and Ubuntu Linux 9.0 in a tri-boot setup and would like to keep both of them. The windows installer gives me the option to boot to the rc or the "previous version" (XP) and would like to return to a dual-boot.There are only two things that are infinite in the Universe, the Universe itself, and the stupidity of man; and I'm not too sure of the former. -Albert Einstein-

Hido you have a repair disc for XP.The way to remove it is to go into xp and format the partition that the rc was on. As your previous version was XP you will need to repair the boot sector after this operation as win 7 would have over written it. You can use bcdedit first if you wish to put the XP boot sector back to normal then format the win 7 partition from within XPmalc

Hi,The recommend method is to run the command mentioned in the article Rich mentioned, and perform a format on the Windows 7 RC system installed partition. If you do not would like to do a format, we can also manually delete related folders including Windows, Users, Program Files etc. However we will need to reset permission on these folders or we will not able to delete them.
