how can I remove a specific version of .NET file from winsxs?
Hi All, I think my .net problems track back to a bad version of some .net components. My other PC's dont have the files (mscor* etc) with this particular version (21890) How can I uninstall these recent .net additions updates. They dont appear in the windows updates list (programs and features) and I dont know if another recently installed programm may have installed new ones. regards Justin.

Hi, Did you actually encounter any problem? mscor* must be existing on your other Windows 7 boxes. These kind of files belong to .NET framework component. If you did have any problem, just leave it alone. :)Juke Chou TechNet Community Support

Hi Juke, Yes, I am having problems running a lot of programs on my system that use the mscor files. I used a process monitor to see what was causing the crashes. Then sfc /scannow reported that it couldn't fix those same files as the source was corrupted (usually the hash was different). My other Windows 7 box has only earlier versions of some of those dll's even though it was up to date with patches (i think). One of the problems I have tracked down is with the 17755 ones. For example, A (problem machine) and B (stable) A) mscorwks.dll with versions 17514, 17587, 17648, 17755, 21963, 21768, & 21890. B) mscorwks.dll versions 17514, 17559, 17648, 21660, 21768. regards Justin.

Hi Juke, I am sorry that I didn't have time to try the solution. I needed the machine functioning in a hurry, so I did a complete reinstall. Thank you for the time you spent helping me. regards Justin.
