homegroup connectioning problems
ok I havea problem with getting the homegroup to work. I have a wireless and 2 wired computers, and am trying to set up homegroup. now I got a password for the thing but when I go to the other computers and try to use it. it says that win7 cant set up homegroup on the computer.now I have checked the setting for ipv6 and on the general page it says no network connectivety, but when you go to properties ipv6 is checked. and under sharing, is allow other network users to to connect through this computers internet connection and other network users to to controll or disable the shared internet connection and both are checked. so I am stumped as to what to do. am i spose to start with the wired connection first or does that make a difference? and on all the computer the settings are the same.

Hi, How do the computers connect to Internet? Do they connect to a router or switcher? Here are some suggestions you can try: 1. Disable ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) 2. Temporarily disable Firewall and third party antivirus program on each machine. 3. Verify relevant services on each machine ========================= a. Click "Start", type "services.msc" (without quotation marks) in Search Bar and press Enter. Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue. b. Right click the "Peer Networking Grouping" service and choose Properties. c. Please check if the service is started; if not, please click the Start button and see if it works. d. You may also choose Automatic next to Startup type. e. Click OK. f. Please repeat the above steps with another service: PNRP Machine Name Publication Service. Then, please create a HomeGroup and try to add another machine for a test. If the issue persists, please run a Ping test between each machine and post the result here. Thanks, Novak
