help with computer - add ware. ?
not sure if this is the correct palce to post thei, but i hope one of you kind folks will help,- my computer normally runs fine so i have no clue how to fix it. - system: windows vista running microsoft security essentials, and mcafeei know that 2 antivirus can cuase problems. there is something going on that is causeing my computer some MAJOR lag issues. i only notice them when i am online. the two connections i have expereinced this from are both wireless routers. both password secured. once i started noticeing the lag, i found out that the mcafee keeps getting turned off. so after it shutting off on its own for a few days i downloaded the mentioned microsoft thing. now i logged on jsut now, and it was turned off.......i have run full scans with both applications and it says all is fine and normal. it says i dont need to defrag and preformance is good.another thing. twice it has gone to a black screen with a small microsoft window that read something about security failure or something.i am lost and id rather not whipe by comp and start over if at all possible.thanks in adavance for any help

also, one other weird thing. although i am online, the networking icon on teh lower right shows the little red X kind of like i am not connected.

You are running Windows Vista , correct? I suggest that you check and make sure that you have Service Pack 2 install on your Windows.Try to update Windows and Microsoft Security Essentials, diabel McAfee and do full system scan.About your Wi-Fi, if you could make sure your are using WPA2 rather than WEP. If WPA2 is not supported then use WEP 128 bit encryption .If you think you already infected as you described then contact MSE support team: I think my computer is infected
