Why can't I get Help from this program?

The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which depends on a feature that isn't included in Windows 8.1 or  Windows RT 8.1. For more info, go to the Microsoft Support website.

We tried fixing this problem, but:

*.hlp files do not work in Win 8.1 due to the December 9th, 2014 update.

Workarounds that worked previously are not working at this time. Cannot roll this computer back to pre-December 9th, 2014.

Batch file to force workaround fails to load; it says the MSU file in question is not in the folder.

Hi Mirjam,

Forgive me but I don't quite understand the description of the issue, Please edit the post so we can know what happened. If you encountered any issues about development of an application, then I would suggest you post the auestion in MSDN Forum

https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home

If you have encountered an application compatibility issue in Windows 8.1, then I would suggest you run the application in compatibility mode (right click the exe\properties\compatibility).

Regards.
