help!! How can I restore a cookie file in IE for msn money watchlist
Hi,
I had a crash on Windows 7 64 bit, and on restart IE asked to restore last session. This caused my msn money watchlist to be wiped out. I need to get this back into IE. The file containing the data appears to be in:
C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\Low
named as:
xxx@moneycentral.msn[2]
It appears to contain the old content, but I can't get IE to use it. Any ideas???

Hi,
Right click on the txt file you find and choose "restore previous versions". After searching, check if any previous version displayed, if so, restore to the point. If it does not work, right click on the main folder named cookies, and try the restore previous
version again.
In addition, It is suggested to contact
Money Solution Center for direct help.

Hi Magon,
Many thanks for your answer. I have fixed it now. What I did was to do the restore previous version of the cookie folder (to the day before the crash). This claimed to do a restore, but strangely when I browsed the txt files the content
was today's !! So, in the restore previous window it gave me the option of making a copy, which I did to a safe place. I then deleted the cookie folder and copied the copy into where it had been, started IE and bingo, my stocklist was back in the
watchlist.
Thanks to your suggestion for the restore - it was key to the solution.
