for ppl getting the error msg for KB929777. i suggest tht you uninstall the update and download and install hotfix.KB929777. from microsoft site not windows update cos u'll get the same error. if u cant see the origanl update KB929777. check to see if it is hidden. there should be a button to reveal hidden updates. u want to uninstall it and reboot. then install the hotfix.KB929777. reboot and run windows update. if that fails i suggest copying any important files u have to another means of disk space i.e. ext. hdd. reinstall vista and make sure before u install anything else install service packs. i had major problems when i did reinstall. doing a reinstall is a last resort if u have tried everything u can!
