"is there anyone that knows where i can download a driver to install a belkin wireless grouter, model F5D7230-4 on to my computer?" I do not understand your question. The router is not installed on your computer. The router is a device that helps your computer get to internet through a NAT firewall and do not need any drivers to work on your computer. The router is working as dynamic "out off the box" and your configuration on the tcp/ip on the computer shall be set to update dynamic. Connect the cables and you are out on the internet.

I'm sorry but I beg to differ. You are correct in saying that the "router" is not installed onto your computer, however the drivers needed for the computer to recognize the router are. If this was not the case, the thing wouldn't come with an "installation cd". Maybe some routers DO NOT requires, however this one....does. I have been searching for the same thing...when I find it, I'll come back and post the link. A girlfriend of mine found it once for me when I had vista, but since I have changed operating systems...I have to find it again.THIS forum did not help one bit....Later~Z

Actually, the previous poster was exactly correct - a router is a router is a router, and requires no drivers. Ever. The CD that comes with it (the router) is a setup disc (it's supposed to automagically transfer your existing network setting to the router, so that you don't have to manually configure it); but, it's isn't required that you use it - you can still manually configure the router. This (manual setup) we can help you with. Are you on a cable or DSL connnection? Are you using a 'normal' patch cable to connect the PC to the router? A crossover cable won't work here. Now, network cards (wired or wireless) do require drivers...

I have a similar problem. I set up my wireless router and had two pc's wired. The original pc used to set up the router crashed. The new pc to replace is giving me a 'no drivers detected' error when I'm trying to run the set up of that router downloaded from the website. I have a patch cable running from the pc to the router and I have a cox dsl modem. I did unplug both modem and router before starting the process and if I choose the "Set up wireless home network" I get an option to connect to the original network but after that it kicks me back to a window that says the hardware isn't detected. Any suggestions?

Without the set up disc you've lost nothing except the hold-your-hand set up wizard. You simply need tomanually configure your router using its web-based user interface, which you can access by connecting the router to your computer and entering its internal IP address, 192.168.2.1, into your web browser. Once there, you'll need to enter your wide-area network (WAN) settings (connection type and Internet ID numbers, related to your ISP) using the Internet WAN tab. If you don't know this information then disconnect the Belkin router and connect your ISP's modem. Assuming that that modem allows you to access the Internet, open a command window (click Start, click Run, type cmd) and type ipconfig/all, and your details (including your unique, public IP address) should appear. (Note that in your router's web-based user interface, the local-area network (LAN) settings apply to your Belkin router, which have been factory set, and thus shouldn't concern you.) If you have any difficulties or questions then use another Internet connection to refer to the exhaustive manual at http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/p74559-h_f5d7230-4vaxxx_manual.pdf (you could reconnect your old modem to access the Internet, download the manual, then reconnect the Belkin router).

Somehow, I don't think that it will at this point - the last post was from December 2008. Thread's been 'dead' nearly two years now. ;) Mods, lock?
