my 3 tb seagate external is not being recognized after 8.1 upgrade. plugged in bothe sides of usb ports still no response. lights up when plugged but thats about it. Please help, thanks.

most of issue like this solved by registry fix. Or you can try to update your Windows 8.1 to check

still doesnt work

Hi

Is there any specific error message when you plug in your external HDD?

May I know when you upgrade OS to 8.1, this external HDD still attached?

So before your upgrade your OS, this external HDD working fine?

Did you try to attached your external HDD to another PC or laptop?

did you check inside device manager whether your external HDD detected?

may I know the details your external HDD spec and PC spec?

Please provide as much as information that related to this issue
