explorer.exe Application Error - Faulting module name: Windows.UI.Xaml.dll

From time to time during normal usage or sometimes when I jump to the start menu, the task bar stops responding for a long time and eventually restarts and all audio being played gets suck in small loops until explorer.exe restarts.

If i restart it manual through the task manager, the freezing stops immediately. I will provide more information if needed.

Normally after this happens, its followed by some other warnings too (most recurring so probably related):

Information    16/11/2013 01:02:26    HHCTRL    1903    None

Information    16/11/2013 01:01:45    Windows Error Reporting    1001    None

One time, multiples warnings like the following image used to pop up (reinstalled MS VCPP RN like I saw in a fix and they stopped showing up, but the problems still occurred often after it):

While trying to access the start menu from the start button, all 3 three times the system suffered a crash. The faulting modules are different from the one I posted, so I will show them now:

is Autodesk Inventor installed?

If so try updating or if necessary uninstall Autodesk Inventor.

Only Autodesk Inventor 2014 with Service pack 1 supports Windows 8.1:

Hi,

Windows Explorer crashes are mostly caused by an incompatible Shell Extension.

please download this reg file from my SkyDrive:

http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/WER%5E_Explorer_full.reg

and make a double click on the file to import it. If you can't do this, run regedit.exe and import the registry file there!

When the Windows Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the dump file (compressed 7z or RAR to reduce the size) to your public Skydrive [2] folder and post the link here. I take a look at the dump with the Debugger, maybe I can see which Shell extension is the cause.

After you generated the dumps, download and import this regfile:

http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/WER%5E_Explorer_full_uninstall.reg

to stop the dump creation.

From the dta I see a faulting module called SiSGlv.DLL whch is your SiS VGA driver. Update the driver.

Andr
